Eric Le Proux de La Rivière

 

 

 

 

 

Eric Le Proux has worked in and for the telecommunications, media and IT industries for over 35 years. Prior to joining Trinity Advisers, he was the founder and CEO of Vista Advisers, a strategic consulting firm specialising in the satellite and telecommunications sectors.  Mr. Le Proux continued to manage the business after its acquisition by Aon France in 2005.

He began his career with Motorola Semiconductors and then moved to Hewlett-Packard where he held various technical positions in the mainframe terminals and PC businesses with various HP divisions around the world.

In 1989, Mr. Le Proux entered the advisory business, first with The Generics Group, a UK-based firm where he advised leading telecommunications companies, and then with Euroconsult, a consulting firm specialising in the satellite sector.  During his tenure at Euroconsult, Mr. Le Proux directed the Communications & Space Consulting Division where he focused on the development of the satellite services sector, both from strategic and financial standpoints.

Mr. Le Proux has advised most of the world’s satellite operators, representing in aggregate over 80% of the turnover of the satellite services industry. He is a regular speaker in leading conferences and published a number of papers on the satellite and telecommunications industries.

Over his career, Mr. Le Proux has acted in numerous transactions of up to $15 billion in size, including acquisitions, divestures and capital raisings, in the satellite and telecommunications sectors in most regions of the world.  He has advised many leading private equity firms, lenders and investors in various transaction-related capacities.

Selected transactions include assignments for or with satellite operators including ABS, Arabsat, Asiasat, BulgariaSat, Eutelsat, GE, Hiber, Inmarsat, Intelsat, Monacosat, Ovzon, Spacecom and others, satellite service providers including but not limited to Axess, Anuvu (fmr Global Eagle), Marlink, Media Broadcast Satellite, Signalhorn, Sonema, SpeedCast and others, and technology companies including Airbus, Integrasys, Novelsat, Skyrora, Thales and others.

In addition to Trinity Advisers, Mr. Le Proux was a director of Communications Investment Partners Limited (CIP) and Total Solar Limited. 

Mr. Le Proux holds a MBA from INSEAD and an advanced degree in electrical engineering and semiconductor physics, Magna Cum Laude, from ENSEIRB-MATMECA.  Mr. Le Proux resides near Paris and is fluent in French and English.
